Would it be too much to ask to give your chap a namecheck?Personally, I've been impressed with the work (& advice) of Gavin at GS Polishing down in Rochester. Maybe great polishing is a Southern thing.
sure - he is called Andy and he works at Chris Smith Restorations in Olive Road Hove Sussex - you can google their details!
